Facilitated by Dr. Andrew Canady of the history faculty at Averett, Our Civil Rights: Race & Labor is a series of conversations that explore the history of race as it influenced labor in the Nation, the South and in our local community. Free and open to the community, Our Civil Rights: Race & Labor is a collaboration of the Pittsylvania County Public Library and History United, a program of Virginia Foundation for the Humanities.
This session will focus on the 1960s Civil Rights movement and its effect on integrating various industries including the textile industry. Refreshments begin at 6:30 PM and the program begins at 7:00 PM. All are welcome!
