Our Civil Rights: A Local & National Story

Facilitated by Dr. Andrew Canady of the history faculty at Averett, Our Civil Rights: A Local & National Story is a film and discussion series that explore the history of race in the South and in our local community. Free and open to the community, Our Civil Rights: A Local & National Story is a collaboration of the Pittsylvania County Public Library, Pittsylvania Together, Chatham First, Rosebud Baptist Church and History United, a program of Virginia Humanities.

We are excited about this series that will take place the last Tuesday of the month, from May – September at the History Research Center & Library, 340 Whitehead St., Chatham. Join us for the kickoff on May 29th with a Potluck Supper and clips from The Abolitionist.
