Emma Edmunds, History United’s beloved project historian, passed away on February 9, 2020. Born in Richmond in 1946, Emma was a tireless historian and researcher who was devoted to compiling a more inclusive narrative of the Civil Rights Movement in Danville. She interviewed residents all over the city and collected their stories into a collection of oral histories. We will miss her dearly. You can read a memorial for Emma, published in the Danville Register, here.
