On May 2, 2015 Virginia Foundation for the Humanities Scholar and historian Henry Wiencek gave a talk at History United’s Finding Your Roots event in Yanceyville, NC. Wiencek discussed his acclaimed book, “The Hairstons: An American Family in Black and White” and highlighted the importance of persistence when researching and exploring family history.
