Facilitated by Dr. Andrew Canady of the history faculty at Averett, Our Civil Rights: Race & Labor is a series of conversations that explore the history of race as it influenced labor in the Nation, the South and in our local community. Free and open to the community, Our Civil Rights: Race & Labor is a collaboration of the Pittsylvania County Public Library and History United, a program of Virginia Foundation for the Humanities. This month’s discussion will explore the history of the Great Migration and the economic advancements for blacks during and after WWII. Refreshments begin at 6:30 PM and program starts at 7 PM.
